Soda fired bowl
Here's another bowl from this firing. The liner is my regular celadon base, replacing the black iron oxide with cobalt oxide and some Alberta slip.
Yesterday was another day that unfolded itself into something other than I planned. Gardening was put off because we had to take our dog Bodhi to the vet. He was sneezing and wheezing and since it was Friday and no vets are available on the weekend, we wanted to make sure it wasn't anything serious. Turns out that he has allergies! So now he's on antibiotics and allergy medicine all in one.
We stopped and did some shopping on the way home and then I did some food prep for our porch sitting with friends. I'm having a hard time waking up this morning after all that good wine and food; but I am going to get out and get some weeding done after breakfast and maybe plant a couple of things.
This is Bakersville's rhododendron festival weekend and I'm wondering if it will be too crowded at the top of the Roan with all the local and out of town visitors checking out the blooming rhododendrons. I'm up for the crowds if it means seeing all that glorious shrubs in full bloom.
