Alex Matisse East Fork Pottery video

With hints of spring to come,  I'm thinking about my non existent pottery studio - some unpacked, but mostly still packed boxes in a dark, dank, unheated, low ceilings basement with no opportunity for setting up a decent studio with water,  and wondering what I'm going to do about this.

I was happy to find this wonderful Alex Matisse's video on You Tube to share but it also was a bit sad reminder that a part of my life is no longer feasible any more.

Realistically at my age and current circumstances, it's obviously time to let it all go which I am prepared to do. It's not that I don't have things to fill my day that are much easier on my 77 year old body. Spring is close by and I've already had two sessions of garden cleanup the past few days and even transplanted broccoli, cauliflower, spinach, some onions, lettuce, and cilantro with the rest of the onions, added asparagus roots, arugula and collards still waiting to get planted in the next couple of days if I can squeeze it in between some of the rains in the forecast.

It's been a cold, rainy, dismal winter  - worst ever in my experience in Southern Oregon, But the promise of spring is definitely uplifting and after a winter of filling my days with new things like soap making, playing mahjong (I love this game!), cooking and doing every day chores, I'm ready to join my garden to come to new life again.
